Ingredients:

scant 2 cups cooked chickpeas or 1 can chickpeas, drained and RINSED well (no-salt added)

1/4 cup nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew, walnut, etc.)

1/4 cup maple syrup (or raw honey)

2 tsp vanilla

2 tbsp maca powder

2 tbsp whole flaxseeds, freshly ground

For toppings (optional):

Goji berries, hemp seeds, flaxseeds (ground), nuts, cacao nibs, toasted oats, chocolate chips, raisins, cinnamon, various dried fruit, coconut flakes, possibilities are endless!

Combine all ingredients except toppings in a food processor or crappy magic bullet and blend until all is combined. I blended the flax prior to everything else, just to make sure they were ground. If you’d like to add in some chocolate chips (which I do recommend), then mix in with the batter now. I omitted the chips because I knew I was going to eat the whole batch… >.<

Roll into balls and add toppings if desired.

Place on a tray or in a container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until they set. Devour.

these are wonderful! thank you for the recipe and pic’s also!
very pretty & taste very good!
but i just wanted to make sure you know they are not really raw, because the chickpeas are cooked in canning process, and not really safe to eat raw anyway. i am not a raw foodist so i really enjoy these, and i think they are a nice quick ‘no cooking time spent’ snack, but that does not make them ‘raw’ exactly, just so you know :)
(really not wanting to sound snobby or critical here, i just wanted to say this because i am a food professional and want to be helpful!)

    • Hey Eglu, yes you are completely right! I don’t use canned beans anymore, only sprout them, so technically they’re raw then. You may use whichever beans you’d like! I should’ve specified, I will do that now. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Have a good day Eglu :)

  4. This looks really good. I’m going to try to see if my kids like these!
