I decided to use a green smoothie as the liquid base for these sprouted buckwheat groats (rather than non-dairy milk or water). Topped with some dried mulberries (thanks to my roommate and landlord :) ) and fresh cut banana. Gah I am craving more at the slightest thought of this.

I do hope you try this…

Ingredients:

8-12oz (1- 1/2 cup) of your favorite green smoothie (try out dandelion green, ginger peach, mango kale)

1/2-3/4 cup raw sprouted buckwheat groats

potential add-ins:

raw cacao/nibs

chocolate hemp powder

cinnamon

goji berries

chia seeds

hemp seeds

stevia, etc.

Make the smoothie and then add to buckwheat groats, add toppings and voilà. You have yourself a delightful treat..

Must mention even sans the green smoothie, add in some non-dairy milk and this is oh so fantastic. Try it out for yourself and see :)

  1. What a great idea. I will have to give that a try :)

  2. Admittedly, I’m rotten to the core – but this is JUST the kind of dish I love to torture my non-vegan family with – being murky and green and all. The best part is, I’m sure it is yummy!

  3. Amazing! This is how I like to eat my chia pudding — and yes, co-workers and friends have been thoroughly grossed out. More for me, I say!
